Case Study

Microsoft IE Gallery

A global web standards showcase supporting 40 countries. We handled development, UX design, and front-end implementation — delivering a platform that demonstrated what the modern web could do.

The Challenge

Global scale, local relevance.

Microsoft needed a web gallery that showcased web standards across 40 countries — each with different browsers, languages, and connectivity conditions. The platform had to be visually striking enough to inspire developers while technically robust enough to serve a global audience at scale. Tag designed and built the entire experience.

Multi-Regional Platform

Built to serve 40 country-specific versions with localized content, right-to-left language support, and region-aware feature detection — all from a single codebase.

Performance at Scale

Optimized for fast loading across varying global connectivity conditions. Progressive enhancement ensured the experience degraded gracefully on slower connections.

Developer-Focused UX

The gallery needed to inspire developers while being genuinely useful — showcasing real code examples, live demos, and standards documentation in an accessible format.

Integrated Delivery

Design and development happened in parallel because the same team was doing both. No handoff delays, no design that couldn't be built, no compromises from miscommunication.
